P.C. Dewhurst Collection of volumes, files, notes, drawings and photographs. Archive material describing locomotives of various pre-grouping railway companies, notably the Midland Railway. Also some volumes describing locomotives of the grouping companies, light and independent railways, Irish railway companies, various overseas railway companies, and lists of locomotives built by various independent manufacturers and early locomotive pioneers.. This collection also includes early railway drawings and photographs, notably of the Midland Railway. The Dewhurst Collection consists of photographs of Midland Railway locomotives taken before the First World War, and engines in South America, Jamaica and the Balkans, particularly Greece.
