Approximately 1600 drawings and c60 boxes of files, manuals, papers, catalogues etc. from Eastleigh Works. Material deposited on the closure of Eastleigh by its owners, Alstom Transport, at the end of 2005. The drawings include site and plant drawings for Eastleigh and other works dating back to the 1890s. Files include specifications of carriages, catalogues and manuals from component suppliers and sub-contractors, test reports etc. Also some drawing regsisters and a few photographs. Collection requires weeding.

Papers of Col. Michael Cobb, circa 1970 to circa 2000. Col. Cobb was the author of 'The Railways of Great Britain: A Historical Atlas', which superimposes the rail network onto OS maps and adds opening and closure dates, name changes, companies etc. etc. The Atlas is a major reference work and contains a wealth of historical detail. The papers consist of drafts, correspondence and supporting material. NB - requires appraising, weeding and sorting.

Papers of Peter Kenneth Kersey, Senior Inspector, BR(SR) CM&EE's Department. Mr. Kersey joined the SR at Lancing Works in 1945, and took redundancy in 1988. During his career he attended at accidents, prepared vehicles for Lord Mountbatten's funeral train and for moves from Clapham to York. Papers include career papers, annotated images of accidents mainly involving BR(SR) EMUs, manuscript course notes, breakdown crane manuals, files on the Mountbatten train and York moves, various printed instruction books etc. Currently in 3 archive boxes.
