Painting, oils on canvas, Wales, Travel by Train by Frank Wootton, about 1960. Depicts an imagined scene in Wales. In the foreground is a river, crossed by a stone bridge. An angler fishes on one bank, and on the other side of the river cows approach the water to drink. Beyond the bridge is a ruined castle, similar in some respects to Harlech Castle. Dominating the background is a mountain, which closely resembles Cader Idris. Original artwork for a quadroyal poster published by British Railways Western Region in about 1960.
