Nelson is dressed in his naval uniform complete with decorations, holding a telescope in his left hand, with the redundant right sleeve pinned to his coat. Behind him sailors man the guns as a warship approaches. Probably intended to represent the scene on board HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805. Watercolour, Skegness is so Bracing by Wolf (Richard Stansfield), after John Hassall, 2004. Pastiche depicting two cats, dressed in the style of Hassall's Jolly Fisherman, gambolling along a beach. One cat wears a sweater with the letter Y, the other the letter E. The cats are the Yorkcats, Yorkcat and Eric, which regularly featured in the York Evening Press (later York Press) newspaper. The cartoon was made in recognition of the National Railway Museum, which is based in York. Signed at bottom right, "Wolf after Hassall".
