Painting, oil on canvas, London Midland & Scottish Railway steamer SS Jupiter, as ack-ack ship HMS Scawfell, under aerial attack at sea, by Norman Wilkinson, about 1945. Depicts the Clyde paddle steamer Jupiter in wartime service with the Royal Navy as an anti-aircraft ship. The ship is shown at speed, with water spouting from bomb explosions on either bow. An aircraft, on fire, dives out of control into the sea, leaving a trail of smoke behind. In the sky are smudges of smoke from exploding anti-aircraft shells. Signed by the artist at bottom right. Created for The LMS at War series. Unframed
