Painting, oil on canvas, Lancaster Castle, by Leslie Carr, 1952. Depicts the gatehouse of Lancaster Castle, with visitors walking towards the archway, which is flanked by trees. There is a predella beneath the main illustration showing the "Judges Procession to the Assize", with a line of legal figures, clergy, local officials and policemen. Beneath is a space for text.
