Painting, oil on canvas, original poster artwork, Somerset, by Herbert Alker Tripp, about 1948. Depicts a village on a wooded hill, with a church at the summit. In the foreground is a field of grazing cows with a horse and cart on a track, and an arched stone bridge. The bottom of the canvas, approximately 200 x 1270 mm, has been left blank for the insertion of text. Original artwork for British Railways (Western Region) poster, Somerset, the holiday county of infinite charm, part of the Travel by Train series.
