The man, who is balding and holding a pipe, is seen from the rear, with the woman, who is wearing a hat and holding a guidebook, seen in profile. Framed and glazed (glass). Signed and with title lower right. Small plastic label fixed to the frame along the bottom edge reads: 'KNARESBOROUGH / ORIGINAL DESIGN ON / PERMANENT LOAN/ FROM THE L&NER Co.'
