Poster, London Midland and Scottish Railway, Southport for a holiday in wintertime, by Fortunino Matania, about 1936. Coloured lithograph depicting people in evening dress leaving the art deco Garrick Theatre in Lord Street, Southport, on a wet night. The women are dressed in elegant gowns, while a man wears a frock coat, monocle and top hat. A chauffeur waits outside the well lit theatre entrance with his limousine. In the background are cars and trees, illuminated with fairy lights. Supporting text below reads "From the painting by Fortunino Matania R.I. Guide free from information bureau, Southport". On either side of the text are Southport's coat of arms and the LMS crest. Reference in the margin reads "ERO 53351". Format quad royal. Printed by Waterlow and Sons Limited.
