Poster, British Railways, Progress, by Terence Cuneo, 1957. Coloured lithograph depicting the interior of British Railways Swindon Works, and the construction of a Warship class diesel hydraulic locomotive. The illustration depicts the engine being lowered into the locomotive from an overhead gantry. Alongside is another diesel locomotive under construction, and a steam locomotive being overhauled. In the background on a raised platform is the 1837 Great Western Railway 2-2-2 locomotive 'North Star'. Text reads "Progress, Every week British Railways Modernisation Plan goes further ahead".
