Model of Douglas D.C,-3 aircraft, scale 1:24.

Model of Douglas DC-3 aircraft, scale 1:24. The DC-3 has contributed more to air transport than any other aircraft. When it was introduced in 1936, it was the first modern airliner able to carry a sufficient number of passengers in such comfort and at such a cost as to encourage and promote a healthy growth of air traffic. Many were built as military transports during WWII. It was known as the Dakota when operated for the British armed forces and Pioneer by British European Airways. Several hundred are still in service.
