Cochrane's experimential Propeller

Cochrane's experimential Propeller

William Cochrane developed this lightweight propeller in 1909. Two sheets of aluminium are rivetted together over a wooden core. The rear sheet is corrugated to stiffen it. It closely resembles one made by Cochrane for the Batchelor monoplane, fitted with a 28 hp (20.9 kW) two-cylinder Alvaston engine. This was briefly tested at Rochester, Kent, in 1910.
