Beardmore Heavy Oil engine, diesel engine, Tornado Mark III (No. 35, A.103459), with fuel filter, and separate gasket; oil temperature gauge readings plate; and gauge backing plate; plus thirteen unidentified components, comprising: twin fuel feed component; lanyard with attached hooks, eyes and brass screws; plastic sheathed cable; steel and aluminium clamp; steel cog-wheel on shaft; triangular aluminium block inscribed with: ‘K L M’, with small section of cable; pipe-connector fitted to right-angled bar; steel disc inscribed with: ‘KEEP CONE SEAT CLEAN; rod, 30mm length x 20mm diameter, with hole through centre; threaded ‘end cap’ with red insulating tape affixed at one end; hex bolt with four holes through shaft; hex bolt with paper gaskets at one end and steel ‘sleeve’ at the other end; pan-head machine screw, all by William Beardmore and Company Limited, Parkhead, Lanarkshire, Scotland, 1928. The Beardmore Heavy Oil engine, diesel engine, Tornado Mark III (No. 35, A.103459) was tested and used in several flight trials on the H.M. Airship R. 101. However, it is thought unlikely that this engine was on the final flight when the H.M. Airship R. 101 crashed.
