One snuff box, circular, 3 1.4" x 1". Painted lid. Charles & Robert's balloon flight depicted flying over people in woodland.

On 1 December 1783 Nicolas-Louis Robert (accompanied Jacques Charles (1746-1823) on a 36 km, 125 minute balloon flight from the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, ascended to a height of about 1,800 feet (550 m) and landed in Nesles-la-Vallée. Public balloon ascents began to be held in pleasure gardens after the first successful balloon trips in Paris during 1783.
