Box for the ‘Tyne’ Hair Restorer, England, 1890-1915

One of three empty cardboard packages for the "Tyne" Hair Restorer, by R. Cubey, Chemist, Blaydon-on-Tyne, 1890-1915
Hair was washed with the ‘Tyne’ hair restorer to stimulate weak existing hair and replace hair that had fallen out. The box shows a woman with long, thick hair illustrating the hopeful outcome of the product; whether or not the product worked as well as was claimed (or not all) is unknown. A bottle of hair restorer cost 1 shilling (about £4 today) and was made by a chemist, R Cubey, working in Blaydon, Tyne and Wear, England.
