Vinten Model K camera Mk 1 (Normandy). Cine camera for 35mm film on 200 foot spools, designed for combat use during second world war. Turret with three lenses: Cooke Speed Panchro F:35mm, f/2-32, Serial No 289547; Cooke Speed Panchro F:50mm, f/2-32, Serial No 287431; Dallmeyer Telephoto F:6 inches f/4.5-32, Serial No 290557. Helical focusing mounts, rubber lens caps. Clockwork motor drive. Direct vision optical finder with front lens engraved for three lens fields. Parallax adjustment on rear lens. Rotary footage counter. Serial No 251.
Vinten Model K ‘Normandy’ 35mm cine camera, made in England, c. 1940.
The Model K Normandy was designed for the Army Film and Photographic Unit during the second world war. It featured a triple lens turret, 100 or 200 feet daylight loading spools of film and was originally painted in camouflage green. The camera could be driven by a choice of clockwork, battery or mains electrical motors.
