Moy and Bastie Patent 35mm Cinematograph camera, 1909-1910, Patent Number 4534.

This camera, made by the London firm of Moy and Bastie, is a typical British 'upright' pattern camera of the time. It contains the 300 foot feed and take-up film magazines inside the camera. This camera, Serial No 313, has a Zeiss Tessar 5cm f'/3.5 lens in an adapted helical focussing mount marked 'Natural Color Kinematograph Co Ltd, London', which suggests it was once owned by Charles Urban's company. It has an adjustable sector shutter, a claw intermittent and two continuous sprockets. In addition to the normal shaft for the hand crank, there is a single frame shaft. The camera has through-film focussing from the rear, a footage indicator and a film punch. There are frosted focussing film slips in the holder inside the case.
