Aptus Beach Camera

Aptus beach camera. Moore & Co, Liverpool. Box camera with attached tank for in-camera processing. The Aptus Ferrotype camera was introduced in 1913, after the design for the Mandel-ette, a box camera with special in-camera processing. The Aptus in its various forms, had a long commercial life: in 1927 it was modified to take positive cards instead of plates, and as late as 1956 the Aptus Automatic Minute Camera was being advertised and sold in a version for which negative cards were used, with a provision for producing positive prints by copying.
