A photograph of a little girl taking a cigarette from a packet, taken by James Jarche (1891-1965) for the Daily Herald newspaper on 11 October, 1932.

The scene is the roof of a building, probably the Daily Herald's offices at Long Acre, near Covent Garden in London. The photograph was taken to illustrate a newspaper feature, but further details are not known.
