Beyer M160 ribbon microphone. Ser. No. 8700, c.1965.
Often used as talkback microphones, usually on a gooseneck. It has a directivity pattern which is nominally a cardioid. In 1965, two specimens were tested by the BBC R&D Department, including measurements of frequency characteristics, sensitivity, impedance and susceptibility to magnetic fields. One specimen was re-tested after extensive operational use and its performance was found to be substantially unchanged.
