Marconi Mk III camera head.

The camera head houses the image collection section of the camera. Light is focussed by the lens onto the face of the pickup device, the electrical signal is then amplified to a form which can be distributed to a vision mixer.

The head is heavy and needs a stable platform on which to operate, Vinten made early pedestals which can easily be operated by the camera person.
