Gelatin silver print entitled 'Mr T lived alone in a single room of a multi-let house. It is very damp and in poor repair. His pattern of life was revealing. In winter he went to bed most of the afternoon to keep warm as he couldn't afford to keep the gas fire on. Otherwise, he spent his day travelling round on the buses. OAPs had free passes at off-peak periods. This, too, kept him warm for nothing'. Photograph by Nick Hedges.
