Cornel Lucas' Kodak Studio Camera No. 2 used by Lucas, c. 1950.
Cornel Lucas was a British photographer who photographed many movie stars of the 1940s and 1950s, working first from a studio at Pinewood Studios, then freelance from a studio in Chelsea, London.
Lucas made thousands of photographs of stars such as Brigitte Bardot, Lauren Bacall, Dirk Bogarde, David Niven and Alec Guinness, many of which are in the collection at the National Media Museum.
This Kodak camera was cumbersome, and once placed in Lucas' studio it would not have moved far.
