Super Robot with box packaging, manufactured by Horikawa, Japan, 1972.

This model of toy robot was released in the 1972 Horikawa catalogue. It set a new style in robot design, with a two-colour paint finish in red and blue, and the popular 'Rotate-o-Matic' mechanism along with two guns concealed behind doors on the robot's chest. The 'Super Robot' name was applied by Horikawa to other designs.
