Pocket watch converted to a wristwatch, unknown maker, Switzerland c.1890 with 20th century modifications. Rolled gold pocket watch case, engraved on the back. Converted to a wristwatch by applying two lugs at 90˙ to the winding button, to allow a strap to be threaded through. The dial has also been rotated 90˙ anticlockwise so that the winding button is easily accessible when the watch is worn on the left wrist. Bar-type movement with cylinder escapement. Clockmakers' Museum No. 744.
