Gold watch by Robert Roskell, Liverpool, 1814. Gold engine-turned double-backed case with Chester hallmarks and makers mark 'TH'. Inside of curvette stamped 22994. Matted gold dial with subsidiary seconds dial. Gold minute and hour hands, and steel second and alarm hand. Jewelled movement with lever escapement and berollas repeater and alarm (Patent 117). Signed ‘Robert Roskell, Liverpool 22994’. Clockmakers' Museum No. 1206.
