A Fairyland for Charity

Mr Fred Aldis, a 64 year old shopkeeper of Longbridge Road, Barking, Essex, England, has turned his front garden into a glittering fairyland. Reindeer gallop acros the lawn amidst a setting of twinkling stars and glowing lanterns. Overlooking the scene the figure of Father Christmas. In the middle of it all stands a chimney pot which passers-by can thrown money. The cash goes to the Save the Children Fund. Here, parents show their young children the fairyland of Mr Aldis's garden after the lights were turned on last night, December 21.
