Black and white gelatin silver photograph entitled 'Moon Television Antenna'.
Caption reads: "RCA Engineer Bob Mason rehearses a scene Apollo 11 astronauts may enact on their visit to the moon by adjusting a fully-opened gold-plated wire mesh umbrella antenna to beam communication signals, inclosing live TV from the moon to the earth, which in an emergency can be used instead of the antenna system aboard the Lunar module. The RCA antenna has more than 38-mile of gold-plated wire thinner than human hair, in its reflective surface that is 10 feet in diameter, the umbrella weighs less than 14-lbs, and working in conjunction with the Lunar module communications system, can transit voice, biomedical data, telemetry and TV signals across the 250,000 mile distance from moon to earth."
