Pedometer with engine turned silver case

Pedometer with engine turned silver case. The back centrally engraved with a crest (a gryphon’s head erased) and the initials PHH. Blued steel hand with pierced counter-balance. The white enamel dial with black numerals I – XII over a very pale grey chapter ring. The dial centre with and eight-pointed star painted in blue, its points separating eight tiny flowers with gilt petals. Gilt and blued steel movement, frosted plates. The case numbered 1105 but not hallmarked. Late 19th century. 45.5mm dia. Maker unknown.
