One magnetic reel-to-reel 1/4" audio tape, oral history interview with John Baldwin, conducted and recorded by David Mosley on 23 July 1986. Duration: 29 minutes. John Baldwin served on ambulance trains during the Second World War. He worked in the steel industry before the railways. His first posting was to Southampton where the train worked in conjunction with five hospital ships. He gives details about the London, Midland and Scottish railway carriages used to transport patients. He describes some of the lines he travelled, and what happened to the carriages at the end of the war.
