One photograph titled 'Preparing the ground for next years food'. Caption on the back reads: 'While oats are being gathered on one side of Tyler's Causeway, Hertfordshire, derelict land on the other side is being ploughed up in readiness for Autumn sowing. The machine used is American made, a Caterpillar D.4. with a Disc Harrow. These machines of which there are only two in the country, pulverise the roughest of ground. Photo shows: - A member of the Women's Land Army at work with the machine ploughing through bushes on very rough ground.'
