The Daily Herald published story, attached to the back, explains how the chicken was found, unharmed, under the engine bonnet of a car where she had been for six days. The cars owner, Mrs. Pamela Tebbit, believed the hen climbed in at Northampton market and travelled around 100 miles during the six days.
