One photograph of a woman tuning a harmonica titled 'Harmonicas for export'. Caption on back reads: 'Eight thousand harmonicas are made at an Enfield factory each week the majority are for export. One of the tuners tuning reed plates by means of "squeeze box" which she operates with her knees'. Attached press clipping reads: 'Girl with an unusual export job is Vera Bowers, a tuner of harmonicas at a factory in Enfield, Middlesex. With a "squeeze-box" fitted to her knee she pumps air through the reed plates of the instruments'. Includes crop marks.
