One photograph of a man playing a harmonica titled 'Harmonicas for export'. Caption on back reads: 'Eight thousand harmonicas are turned out from an Enfield, Middlesex factory each week the majority of which are for export. Pat Cooper aged 22 who has been playing a mouth organ since he was seven has the job of testing every harmonica which leaves the factory here he is testing them. He plays over a thousand each day'. Attached press clipping reads: 'After Vera has tuned the harmonicas, twenty-two-year-old Pat Cooper tests them. Every one of the firm's weekly output of 8,000 - the majority are sent overseas - pass through Pat's hands - and mouth. Playing the harmonica is his hobby too'. Includes crop marks.
