With the exception of the silent years 1940-1941, Ted has rung the bells in this ancient church for 50 Christmasses. Georgeo Horley, the village postman, runs him very close with 44 years service. The team of five ringers have a total of 190 years of bellringing between them and many of their Fathers and Grandfathers pealed these bells since they were first installed in 1805. On Christmas day Ted and his team will ring a peal of 720 changes in 28 minutes as a mark of recognition for the Captain's 50th anniversary and Ted is still going strong. L. to R. Roy Peadle Village Carpenter. Bob Taylor Brickmaker. Percy Pescud Gardener. Fred Stace Postman. Ted Vine (Capt) Hall Caretaker. Tom Smith Blacksmith'.
