However, in 2020, the run was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. Mass participation events were cancelled or postponed for much of the year. Instead, there was a Local Landmarks Challenge, encouraging those that had signed up to run the distance in their local area, back garden, kitchen and even on their balcony.
