Tape 1 of 4: long and close-ups of bridge, trains passing over bridge, engine room shots with operation, hydraulic cylinder operating; tape 2 of 4: cabin and span, bridge swinging, exterior shots sunny weather, points operating, signal operating, track details, cabin exterior; tape 3 of 4: ships passing bridge, trains on bridge, bridge gear opeating at join, bridge swinging and ship passing, from cabin; tape 4 of 4: inside cabin, operation of bridge and signals from cabin. Material edited into a 27 minutes video in 1986. Low band, unedited original camera tapes. Colour, sound. Duration: 20 minutes maximum each

This videotape is part of the a collection of video recordings commissioned by the Friends of the National Railway Museum in the 1980s and 1990s and made by John Spencer Gilks and Gavin Mist. The series of footage intended to be part of ‘FNRM Archive’, a video archive of railway operation at the time, with an emphasis on signalling (level crossings, signal boxes, semaphore signals), also capturing traffic and operations on specific lines prior to their closure. In addition, the series includes a complete record of the restauration work on the 'Duchess of Hamilton' 4-6-2 Coronation class, No 6229, between 1986 and 1990.
