Painting, oils, forging a connecting rod with an 8-ton steam hammer at Crewe railway works, by Robin Comyns-Carr, about 1943. Depicts the operation of the steam hammer. Three men hold the connecting rod, which is suspended from a crane, in position as the hammer falls. Another man stands in the background at the opposite side of the hammer. Signed at bottom right, "R Carr". Framed.
