Painting, oils, the locomotive erecting shop at Crewe railway works, by Robin Comyns-Carr, about 1943. Depicts a steam locomotive undergoing construction. A welder, in a mask, is welding at the front of the locomotive frames, while a colleague shields his eyes from the glare. In the foreground another worker drives an electric trolley with two pistons. In the background a pair of wheels is suspended from an overhead crane. Signed at bottom right, "R Carr". Framed.
