Painting, oils on canvas, working beneath a locomotive in a pit at Crewe railway works, by Robin Comyns-Carr, about 1943. Depicts two fitters in a pit underneath a steam locomotive, probably in the stripping pit in the erecting shop. One man is knelt holding an iron bar against a wheel, while his colleague strikes it with a sledge hammer. Pinned to a stretcher frame.
