A rail section that was once attached to the end of the hydraulic cylinder now rests on top of it. The rail section is composed of a semi-circular steel wire mesh guard with a flat metal side. The numbered steel supports were bolted to the side of the Greenwood and Batley chain testing machine, the wooden blocks bolted onto the supports, and the walkways rested on top of the blocks.
