Medical Doctor M.D. (Edinburgh-1768), travelled to Iceland in 1772 and later became physician to the Royal Household. He had an interest in astronomy & science as well as publishing his own books. Inventor of the Lind type tube anemometer in 1775 & travelled to Iceland with Joseph Banks in 1772.
