Doncaster Works, known locally as "The Plant", was one of the main workshops of the London & North Eastern Railway and was responsible for the construction of some of the most famous locomotives including 'Mallard' and the 'Flying Scotsman'. The Works now focuses on the repair and overhaul of locomotives and other rolling stock, operated by Wabtec Rail.
