Great Eastern Railway 1862 - 1923

Covered East Anglia, Norwich to London Liverpool Street, locomotives made at Stratford Works. Formed in 1862 by amalgamation of the Eastern Counties Railway with several smaller railways: the Norfolk Railway, the Eastern Union Railway, the Newmarket Railway, the Harwich Railway, the East Anglian Light Railway and the East Suffolk Railway, amongst others. In 1923 it was grouped into the London and North Eastern Railway.
