Two steal mills with pattern cut on them which were put in a sort of lathe and pressed hard against the copper calico printing rollers so that the design is forced into the copper. Rollers are turned down for bearings at either end with a square at one end. One pattern has leaves and dots, the other has swirls. mill for printing roller circa 1870
