Early experimental electromagnetic recording mechanism for discs. Unsuccessful experiment in electrical recording. Arthur Kingston. experimental electromagnetic recording mechanism for discs 1909-
Two ratchet wheels with indicator dials driven by electromagnets. Contact breakers in camera and gramaphone connected via 12v accumulator. Rocker on-off switch. Made by Arthur Kingston for Charles Pathe. 1908. Pathe sound synchroniser 1908-
Mechanical drive from projector, connects through slipping clutch and worm drive rotating outer disc with synchronising mark. Electromagnetically operated ratchet driven inner wheel fed with pulses from battery and contact breaker in gramophone. Outer disc carries three slip rings with contacts connected to projector motor and resistance. Constructed by Arthur Kingston for Charles Pathe. 1908 Pathe sound synchroniser 1908-
