Watch movement with remontoire escapement by Charles Haley, London, Late 18th century. Enamel dial with subsidiary dials for hours and seconds and steel hands. Signed 'Chas Haley Invt et Fecit.' Spring detent escapement with constant force impulse delivered by a spiral spring placed between the escape-wheel and balance-staff. The spiral spring is re-wound by a toothed wheel, driven from the going train and mainspring. Narrow steel balance cock, and balance with 2 quarter rims and helical balance spring. Signed on the movement ‘Cs Haley Invt. et Fecit London P/D.N’. Presented to the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers by Francis Adams in 1869. Clockmakers' Museum No. 435.
