A letter from Robert Stephenson, Liverpool, undated but written between his leaving London, on 4th June, and his next letter, which is dated 18th June, and is addressed to his stepmother, Mrs George Stephenson, Forth Street, Newcastle Tyne. The letter justifies his reasons for leaving for Columbia and the experience he will gain but also states that it was his desire to return and get married. The letter is holograph signed.
