Painting, oil on canvas, Liverpool Street Station, by Marjorie Sherlock, about 1963. Depicts a scene at the ticket barrier on platform 4 at Liverpool Street Station in about 1917. In the foreground are passengers, including a soldier in an Australian Army slouch hat. At left is part of a newsagent's kiosk and railway staff are inspecting tickets at the barriers. Beyond, below a sign announcing "West Side Suburban" trains are two trains, with a blue painted Great Eastern Railway locomotive at the end of platform 4. The scene is framed by the station roof. Framed and glazed (perspex). Signed by the artist at bottom left, "Marjorie Sherlock 63".
