Imperial Airways took over an assortment of aircraft that had been used by a number of independent companies, especially machines used during wartime. The Armstrong Whitworth Argosy was an example of one of these. Seating 28 passengers, the Argosy could cruise at 90 mph with a range of 400 miles.
